The Artist
Kevin Brock was a drummer, percussionist, and composer.
He performed solo drumming compositions, creating "soundscape stories"
by invoking the unique melody and fire qualities that live in the drums.
His pieces can be described as ethereal and lyrical paintings that lead
the listener across deep introspection to irresistible dancing.
Kevin also played and recorded with a variety of artists and performers
in the triangle including the renowned theater company Paperhand Puppet
Intervention, gypsy jazz group Club Boheme, world music group
Different Drum, Duke professor and jazz bassist John Brown, children's
singer/ songwriter Jimmy Magoo, folk singer/songwriter Jonathan Byrd
and others.
