The Lion's Heart Fund has been created in Kevin’s memory. Its primary purpose is to keep the legacy of Kevin's spirit alive, vital, and evolving. Currently the fund is supporting three projects. We would love your support, your involvement, your loving prayers and thoughts...
Deep Waters Coaching & Consulting:
Casey Robertson, Kevin's widow, offers support to spiritual journeyers in the areas of authenticity, calling, and our participation in the great unfolding epic story of the human spirit toward a more inclusive world of peace, justice and solidarity. Casey is a certified spiritual coach, leadership trainer, and 'soul-fire stoker.' Deep Waters is offered to the community (for donations only) as a sacred space and resource for spiritual development, learning, and nurturing.
the flowjo (a soul feeding station):
Before Kevin died, he and Casey were dreaming of creating with others a
musical, artistic, inspirational space where pleasure & social responsibility, art & meaning, grief & joy, awareness of suffering & hopeful celebration would be brought together through music, images, words, dance… They thought of these spaces as “soul feeding stations.” After Kevin's death, Casey was not called to carry out this vision without him. However, a powerful form of this vision is being manifested by two dear friends: Julia Hartsell and Scott Crews are co-creating the flowjo, located in Carrboro, NC, which will be a very special community space for hooping, drumming, dance and social justice activism and consciousness raising. LUMANITY:
The brainchild of Kevin, LUMANITY emerged unexpectedly when a friend of Kevin's gave him some leftover light sticks. Kevin, ever the innovator, soon brought the first "Lu-Man" to life. Dressed in black, in the dark with light sticks rubberbanded to his body in the form of a stick figure--and what we beheld was our essential humanity illuminated (hence: LUMANITY). Kevin was on the brink of unleashing this unique performance art phenomenon when he died. On Halloween night of 2008, just three nights before Kevin's death, Kevin invited his friends and fellow artist to join him on the Bynum Bridge for an spontaneous-LUMANITY-community-extravaganza that ended up with ten "Lu-Men" and "Lu-Women" dancing, moving, drumming and creating together a true prodigy of our humanity illuminated. Austin McCall, Kevin's friend and LUMANITY compatriot, along with others, is continuing the LUMANITY legacy.
These projects are ever evolving and need your support to continue and thrive. Thank you for your energy and presence. Please feel free to contact us.
With deepest gratitude,
The Lion's Heart Team
